Christina Lee/When We Met Anthology
I motioned
for the bar. “Want me to get you a soda or a water?”
Chloe
stared at me for another long moment before she said, “No, thanks.”
We listened
to the next song quietly standing beside each other, lost in our own thoughts.
Until she turned to me and said, “Truth or dare?”
“Dare,” I
said, almost breathless. Given her mood, maybe she’d give me something good
this time.
“Your turn,
Blake,” she said. “Do something spontaneous.”
My fingers
trembled from wanting to touch her so badly and all I could think about was
doing just that.
“You sure
that’s what you want?” I said, turning and backing her against the wall.
“Yes,” she
breathed out.
“Something
spontaneous or something I’ve been thinking about doing for days?” I said, my
lips coming closer to hers. “Maybe weeks?”
Her breath
caught. “It . . . it’s your call.”
My head
swung forward, our foreheads practically touching. Fluttery breaths were
escaping her lips. I place my arms on either side of her head and she bit down
on her lip.
My heart
thrashed in my chest and all I could think about was how desperate I was to
kiss her, but how nervous I was to blow this opportunity.
So I
attempted to read her signals and they were definitely mixed. Her eyes flitted
between panic and lust.
When I
pinned my hip against hers, I could’ve sworn I heard a low moan in the back of
her throat.
“Please,”
she rasped out. “Please . . . don’t . . . Blake.”
My stomach
was in my throat. Fuck, either I’d scared her or I’d been reading her wrong.
I leaned
back to give her space, but her fingers suddenly skimmed across my waist,
clenching my shirt and drawing me nearer.
“Don’t
what?” I asked in confusion. She was so fucking messing with my head.
“Don’t . .
.” She was panting now. “Don’t stop.”
The only author in this
anthology that I was familiar with was Molly McAdams.
I will say that I absolutely loved the other three authors. I loved this anthology and cannot wait for it to be released.

Misha has been hurt and humiliated. Her pain is so much that she was thinking of not returning to school to finish her degree. Good thing her friend talks her into coming back. She is back to school and meets a very handsome boy, Darryn. She is nervous because she is scared that he knows who she is. He of course does but acts as if he doesn't. Eventually, they get close and start to date. A huge leap for her. Nothing stays a secret forever,too bad for Darryn. Will Misha forgive him for lying to her? Will Darryn finally reveal his true feelings and intentions to Misha? Is there a HEA in their future?
I absolutely feel in love with A.L. Jackson's writing style. I was sucked in from the beginning and hated to put book down. I need to read more by this author.

Indy and Kier, OH MY GOODNESS!!!! Indy is one hurt and wounded girl. I wanted to run and find her and dammit, just hug her! She would get so drunk to forget her pain, her deception. She drank so much she was sleeping with men and not remembering!!!!! Then she met her savior. She had no clue what was happening or how but this man was doing everything in his power to make sure she was taken care of. Eventually it clicked. The quiet boy next door was doing something no one had ever done before... taken care of her.
Kier, had his own demons to deal with. His biggest fear is that Indy will not accept him when he confesses his darkest secret. Will Indy and Kier have a future? Will she her feelings for him change once his secret is revealed? Will they get the chance they both deserve?
Indy and Kier had me. I had to find out where this was going and Molly McAdams did an excellent job with their story. I fell in love with Kier!

Courtney is one very busy girl. She works and goes to school, the girl barely has time to pee! She works at a sports bar and does what she can to get hours and big tips, the chick can kick ass as a waitress. Then one day HE walks in to her work. Ugh. Who does the king of the basketball court think she is walking in like he owns the place.
Yeah she knows who he is and more importantly who HE use to be to her. But look at him now. Everyone wants to touch and cheer for DALTON. Dalton, spots Courtney and all the memories from the past hit him hard. She's grown into a gorgeous woman. His mission in life is to get to know her, to be her friend and eventually something will come of it. But she won't look at him, won't acknowledge him. Eventually, he works his magic and gets a date.
Courtney can't believe she is falling for her first crush and that the feeling is mutual. She finds out why they eventually drifted apart and soon finds out that there is more to Dalton. He has some personal issues to deal with. Will Courtney understand, will this pull them apart.
Loved how this story was told and loved how these two found happiness.

Chloe and Blake. Ugh there he is the drop out. The nephew of the boss. Why is he here. He makes her feel uncomfortable, loser. Why would he drop out and work at a construction site.
Blake is uncomfortable around the stuck up chick that looks like a damn pinup. Her fancy clothes and those damn heels! Where is his aunt and why does he need to be at the store.
Chloe is given her final project for her design class and her helper is Blake. Damn him! Why must she spend so much time with him. Why are his ideas so damn good. Why are his games of truth or dare her undoing.
Blake is falling for Chloe. She makes him feel things that he hasn't in years. But he has responsibilities. She wouldn't understand. She's probably got loving parents and everything she wants.
These two are freaking awesome to watch. To see the spark that eventually grows. But how will Chloe deal with the reason he had to drop out and his responsibilities. How will Blake deal with the one thing Chloe struggles with? Will they understand or just walk away.
This story was fast but short sweet and to the point.
I will say that I absolutely loved the other three authors. I loved this anthology and cannot wait for it to be released.
