Synopsis
The hardest thing Cody Wilde ever had to do was keep the promise he made to his dying father—stay away from trouble. Growing up in a rural Texas town and being bullied by the sheriff’s son made it nearly impossible to control the notorious Wilde temper. Only having his good friend, Cassie, and her family for support made the task bearable.

About the Author
L.G. Castillo is an experienced author who has published her
psychological research in several professional journals and books. She is a
licensed psychologist and currently works as a professor at Texas A&M University

I have to be honest I have never read any of L.G.
Castillo's books but after this book I know for sure this won't be the last
book I read written by her, you cant help but be captivated by her writing. I
loved that the story is told in two perspectives by two young people; Cassie
and Cody and we get to see their views of each other and their lives over a few
years.
Cody Wilde stole my heart with his loyalty,
honesty, innocence, strength, and love for his family. At the age of 10 he made
promise to his dying father of walking away at a sign of trouble.
Years later he managed to
keep up with his promise even if it did make him look week to others he managed
to avoid problems by keeping to himself.
Cassie Strong is just that a
strong kind hearted girl who loves her time spent with her dad. On a camping
trip on her 11th birthday she makes a promise of friendship with Cody after
having been mean and cruel to him she realizes what she did and fixes it. Years
later her world gets flipped upside down not only did Cody return to town
hotter than ever... but she also receives some devastating news. Just when she
was beginning to feel a connection with Cody, once again they are separated.
A year later, Cody and
Cassie find themselves reunited and attracted to each other. However a lack of
communication and shyness keeps them apart.
