Anger and pain brought them together, but their passion might just set them free.

Dimitri wants only one thing: revenge. His stepfather, Hendrix, has caused him nothing but pain and heartache. At last Dimitri can take something—someone—important to Hendrix and make him pay: Jess.

Jess is feisty and strong headed. Her past haunts her and connects her to the dangerously dark Dimitri in an unexpected way. Dimitri keeps his secrets locked deep inside, and Jess is drawn to this broken man like no one before.

With little to cling to besides their haunting pasts, both could have been doomed to lives spent raging against the darkness that holds them prisoner. Instead, it seems that as their pain draws them closer together, it is their desire that will set them free.

Bella Jewel is by far one of my favorite authors. Her way of writing is amazing.  I have read all her books and not once can I say I have been one bit disappointed in her work. If you haven't read her books yet I can honestly say you are missing out! When reading her books I get completely submerged in them and find it difficult to put them down and get anything done.

Thats exactly what has happened to me with her Criminals of the Oceans books. I never thought I would find myself so captivated by a pirate story like I was with these books. When I read her first book Enslaved by the Ocean i fell absolutely in love with it. It was so different from what I was used to and Hendrix Wow he made me want to find a pirate of my own.

And with Where the Darkness lies she she didn't disappoint. Where the darkness lies is a beautiful story of 2 people who by chance happen to be what each other needs.

Jessie is a girl.who has been through so much at a very young age. But thanks to the opportunity Hendrix gave her, she learned to survive and be stronger. She left her past in the past and moved forward and created a new life on Hendrix boat out on the sea.

Dimitri is blind from the hate he feels towards Hendrix for his abandonment. Blaming him for all he has suffered. That his life has only been live to get revenge from him. He has only lived to see the day when he can end Hendrix's life.

Dimitri finally finds Hendrix's boat and decides to take Jess in order to make Hendrix suffer.

Little did he know Jess would turn his world upside down. Leaving him in awe and envious of her strength. And what's worse to him she was able to see past the walls he tries so hard to put up. She knows what he has been through without him saying a word!

Jess. Slowly begins to see the real Dimitri and begins to fall for him. She sees his brokenness but she was once that broken herself.

Little by little they become what each other needs. They begin to heal each other in was they thought they would never be able to reach.

Until Jess' s past comes back to  try destroy the life she now has. Dimitry will have to choose between rescuing Jess or his revenge toward Hendrix. What will he choose?
