Synopsis

When the sun disappeared, the world was cast in shadows, hiding the evil that lay in wait. When it was dark, I hunted. The shadows caressed my body as I did things I could never do in the light of day. Eighteen-year-old Bree Bowen has spent her entire life training and working as one of her father’s assassins. Fear has kept her and her best friend, Wes, under her father’s thumb—until now. When Wes takes matters into his own hands, securing Bree a new identity and a plane ticket to America, he gives her the one chance she’s been desperately seeking. Learning to live a new life isn’t easy. Add in her new roommate, Reid, who just happens to be a stripper, and things start to get a little crazy. Falling for a man has never been part of her plan, but she can’t seem to stay away from Reid. When Bree’s past comes crashing back into her life, secrets that she’s fought to keep hidden are revealed, and she’s forced to choose between Reid and the life she could have with him, or Wes, the one man who has always loved her unconditionally. Regardless of her choice, she must learn the consequences of sin.

This book will be a standalone.

Bree, wow!! Holy shit what a way to start a book!!!!

I sure as hell did not see our heroine as an assassin. A chick, a freaking chick is out killing people for her dad's business. She's a trained, yes TRAINED assassin. Her good ole daddy has been training his one and only child to be a killing machine since she could remember. She's 18 and has killed more people than she cares to admit. Does she like it? HELL NO!!!

Daddy dearest is one sick man. But I swear this makes Bree one badass chick you do not want to mess with. She's 18 and daddy has plans for her. She's done being his slave, his minion. She needs out but how? Wes to the rescue. Wes and Bree grew up together, his dad is in the business too. Mafiosos united! Well, he's a killing machine and also Bree's best friend. He and she are a team.  But he sees the dilemma she is and knows that she wants out, when he sees the opportunity he sends her off to freedom!

Freedom comes in the form of a one way ticket to the USA. She ends up in Dallas and meets Reid who was looking for a roommate and she was the one to knock on his door. Never ever has she felt what she feels when Reid is around. Boys/Men were never a part of her world, heck even when Wes kissed her and professed his love for her when he dropped her off at the airport.  Reid is just delish!!!

She needs to find a job and Reid helps her. She finally get a job but wonders what Reid does for a living and she is shocked to find out that he is a stripper. She can see why he is one. The man is just sex on legs. She gets tingles and her heart skips a beat when they are in the same room! But, he's her roommate!!!!! Why must he be so good looking. Reid is also lusting his roommate but is too scared to act on his feelings.

Things are going good for our girl Bree until her past meets her dead on when she least expects it. Now she is trying to figure out how to keep not only herself safe but Reid. Reid has issues he is dealing with and he won't let her in. She knows how that feels because she has so many secrets of her own. Will she manage to keep herself safe? Will she have to tell Reid her secrets? How will he react when he finds out who and what she really is?

This book is one hell of a good book. K.A. does not disappoint. She delivers a hot, kickass heroine who we see growing into one hell of a woman. #TeamReid  I wonder if we will see more of this badass chick.
