Charlotte Ferro is about to jump.

Yet nothing ruins a perfectly good suicide attempt worse than a handsome do-gooder. After William O’Reilly convinces her to take one last ride with him, Charlotte finds herself forgetting about her own problems and enjoying a world of which she never dreamed.

Now addicted to the rush of fast cars and cool criminals, Charlotte finds herself leaning less towards the ledge and more toward the arms of her savior. But with reasons of his own for keeping Charlotte safe from herself, William is reluctant to involve her in his criminal undertakings. Will his career choice keep them apart? Will Charlotte’s painful past?

~*~ABOUT THE AUTHOR~*~

A native of New Jersey and lifelong nerd, Amanda Lance recently completed her Master in Liberal Arts at Thomas Edison State College after her BA in English Literature and AFA in creative writing. As an avid reader of all genres, some of her favorite authors include Hemingway, Marquis de Sade, Stevenson, Bukowski and Radcliffe.

When she isn’t writing or reading, Amanda can found indulging in film noir or hiking with her other half and their extremely spoiled dog. She is obsessively working on her next book and trying to tame her caffeine addiction.

I loved Breakdown.. it was fantastically written you can feel the sadness from Charlotte's character. She is at the very end of the rope, ready to give up. Her plan is well laid out she knows exactly what time and how she is going to end this unhappiness she is living with. But she never expected to run into a hot street racer who will flip her world and give her a reason to smile.
Charlotte (Lottie) is accustomed to being on her own both her parents are always traveling. Their is no communication with them and the little communication she does have is to tell her what to do. And she always does what they say which is why she is going to college and studying a career she doesn't want.
Beacuse she feels lonely she decides it is time to end the situation. She make her plan on how and when she will commit suicide. But her plan is ruined when a sexy street racer interrupts her plans and decides to stay at her side no matter what. (The first few chapters are difficult to read because it is so well written you can actually feel Lottie's pain and sadness)
When William steps in and takes her along to a street race where he introduces her to some of his friends then follows her home to make sure she leaves the bridge. She enjoyed herself... but decides she will proceed with her plans the following day. Next day her plans are ruined once again when William shows up at her door step and invites himself in. Her days continue much the same with William coming around, and the day he doesn't she steps out of her comfort zone to go look for him at one of the races.
Lottie begins to be dependent of William to feel. William is the only one who has cared enough for her well being and makes her feel things from an adrenaline rush to excitement over seeing him.
But when Lottie begins to uncover things that are off about William and she questions him about it. When she get half answer she continues to investigate on her own. The things she begins to uncover suddenly become so clear when all of a sudden William and his friends dissappear.
Without William and the feelings he made her feel Charlotte begins to spiral into depression once again. One she decides she won't go there again and she sets off to find William suceeding. William wants her and she wants William. Will they stay together?
This story was very touching.. Charlotte on the verge commiting suicide meets William who actually cares to check on her. Even though she refuses to except his help secretly she craves it and the attention he is giving her. Little by little their friendship and eventually their love begins to grow.
I love that this story shows how the kindness and caring of one person can make a difference in another persons life! Amanda Lance thank you for sharing this beautiful Story of Charlotte and William's love with us!
