Chase Ketron; Q & A

Chase Ketron, we saw the Cover Reveal for Slider and just fell in love with it. I don't know about you but I wanted to know more about the man on the cover of book two of a series I just fell in love with . So, here is what our little back and forth conversation went like. FYI; he is an amazing man. Enjoy.
RB: How long have you been an athlete, mainly into the lifting?
CK: Ever since 8th grade I have been bitten by the iron bug, due to lifting for football and track. It became much more a part of my life sophomore year of college after sports.
RB: How long into your sport did you become a fitness model?
CK: I had just signed with Silver Model Management after my first shoot with Golden Czermak (FuriousFotog) back in May of this year. Adam Silver had given me a call and sent me a contract a few weeks after. I still cannot believe I am lucky enough to work with such a well-known agency for fitness models. Definitely a blessing.
RB: Do you participate in any other sports?
CK: Absolutely, I played football for the University of Tennessee my freshman year of college but school was becoming difficult for me so I had to make some more free time for my studies. Since then, I have taken fitness much more seriously and treat it like a job. (A job that I enjoy of course!)
RB: Many of your pics show you wearing red BEATS when you workout, what are you listening to? Any faves?

CK: Ah, all kinds of stuff! And I love my beats! I like to listen to different speeches from Eric Thomas and Les Brown before the gym and throughout my day, and when the time comes to hit the weights, it’s usually a mixture of Rock, Electronic/Dubstep, and rap.
RB: Walk us through a typical day in the life of Chase Ketron?
CK: Always start my days off with cardio, I just feel kinda off if I don’t do it. Then I’ll usually knock out my to-do list I write the night before. After I finish up with errands and work, I’ll go in for a weight training session towards the end of the day. Finally, I’ll come home, make a protein shake and fall asleep to some kind of old school Disney movie. Haha It can get repetitive, but it gets the job done.

RB: In some of your pictures we see a tattoo, 1Corinthians 9:27. That tattoo tells me that you are taking care of the temple that you have been given. I sense a practice what you preach motto. Tells me you’re good Christian. Why did you choose that tattoo and have you gotten any negativity from anyone since you are open about your beliefs?

CK: I chose that particular verse because my strength and conditioning coach from UT football, Bennie Wylie, had stated it before camp and made it a motto to live by throughout camp. Bennie was a very influential person to me, as well as a man of God, and he really showed me what discipline and effort were all about and what it could do for you if you put your heart and soul into something. It became my life motto, and I didn’t want to go a day without seeing it, so I made it permanent. No one has ever had anything negative to say about it, but plenty of positive things!
RB: Family… Oh man, did you have many of us laughing, feeling bad for you and just wanting to help you when you posted about your family not taking you on vacation. I gather that family is a big part of your life, again another beautiful trait. What does your family think of you as a romance book cover model?
CK: They are very proud of me for it, and show nothing but support in what I do. I am definitely very blessed to have such a supportive family, not everyone gets that lucky.
RB: When you were younger, what was your dream job?
CK: My dream job was to become an architect as a kid. I would just draw pictures all the time because I would travel with my dad a lot during his work, and I could never put a pencil down. I always wanted to design something. Unfortunately, I suck at drawing so I am sticking with fitness and business.
RB: What did you aspire to become?
CK: I wanted to grow up and be just like my Papaw Ketron, and my dad, Scott Ketron. They are both retired ministers from the Methodist Church. My papaw has made so many monumental accomplishments in his lifetime as well as writing a book on our family history. He is very proud of his family, and has been married to the same woman for over 50 years and still to this day tells everyone how she’s still the most beautiful woman in Sullivan County. My dad, Scott Ketron, has always encouraged me to do anything I set my mind to, didn’t matter what it was. At a very young age, my dad taught me the value of my last name and how I represent my family every day my feet hit the ground from waking. He has provided opportunities for me even when he didn’t have the money to do it. His family is his pride and joy, and he certainly passed that same mindset down to me.
When I read this I cried. Yup, I am one emotional creature and when a man pays homage to his family like this, it is a beautiful thing.
As a mom I just thought; pride, love and devotion.

RB: Many of your fans know you because you are on the cover of SLIDER by Stacy Borel. This is the second book in her CORE Four series. What was it like when you got word that you made the cover, how did you feel, what did you think?
CK: Well, Golden had mentioned to me a few weeks before our first shoot, an author was interested in having me as the cover model for their next book. The first thought I had was how could someone be interested in using me, Golden has so many different models that he works with that have ridiculous aesthetics and good looks. Luckily, Stacy Borel was crazy enough to pick me (love you Stacy) and the feeling was absolutely surreal! Had a smile on my face that entire week, as well as a little pep in my step. I couldn’t be more thankful for Stacy and Golden for that awesome opportunity.
RB: Who was the first person you called when you saw the actual cover?
CK: The first person I had called was my all-time best friend and girlfriend, Alison Hughes. She’s always the first person to hear any news I have. I was literally in tears because I never thought someone like me would ever get the chance to do something so unheard of and remarkable, and I knew my family, as well as Alison, would be just as happy for me as I was about the whole experience.
RB: So, in book boyfriend world you play a Doctor. A very hot Doctor, what are your thoughts on the character many readers will associate with you? With the knowledge you have of Turner Brooks, would you say there are any similarities?
CK: Absolutely, I couldn’t imagine not living a passionate life like Turner, because I feel like if you don’t do what you’re passionate about you’ll never even scrape the surface of your full potential. Also like Turner, I am very protective of what’s mine. My family is everything. If I tell you the words “I love you”, you’re family and I’d put my life down for you, period.
RB: What are your thoughts of the ROMANCE BOOK WORLD?
CK: Honestly, I’m just becoming acquainted with it, so I’m still learning. From what I’ve noticed so far though, Stacy Borel is the s*** and people are all about their romance novels. Also, everyone is so nice and supportive that I’ve had the pleasure of working or talking with that is affiliated with it.
RB: Has your life changed since the cover reveal?
CK: Well due to the amount of influential people I’ve gotten to speak with after the reveal, for sure! It amazes me at how supportive people can be that I have never even met, but they definitely make a positive difference in my life. It’s so fulfilling knowing I do the same for them.
RB: How did it feel to be an #mcm?
CK: It’s very surprising when I see a photo of myself pop up and think “I don’t remember uploading this”, and then notice it’s an #mcm. haha Never fails to put a smile on my face though, and I am very flattered by it.
RB: The female attention, you must tell us how that feels?
CK: Well, I’m definitely not used to it. haha It’s funny though, because I’m kinda awkward and very shy around women. You’d never think that’d be the case though since I come from a family dominated by women.
RB: With your image on almost every romance book blog on cover reveal day, you my friend have had ladies give their very honest opinion of your good looks. Share what goes through your mind when you see a comment left on a picture?
CK: Well just like my friend Shawn Dawson had said before, I literally get red in the face sometimes. Some of the comments I have read before have also put me in tears from laughter from how witty and funny they were! Haha But I always appreciate the love and support.
RB: Are you getting yourself ready to meet the fans?
CK: I am very excited about meeting the fans of Turner Brooks! I can’t express how thrilled I was when I found out from Stacy that she wanted me to be the image for Turner. It was definitely a surreal moment.
RB: We gotta know how romantic is Chase, what would the perfect day out be like for you with a special lady?

CK: Well, I’d have to do my research first and find out what makes that makes that special lady smile, and then try my best to tailor the day to just that. If she’s smiling, I’m smiling.
His girlfriend is one lucky lady, hugs to both of you.
I need to take this time to say THANK YOU Chase. You are an amazing and sweet man and will go far with the attitude, discipline and determination you have. I wish you only the best always. I am in awe of the answers you gave. You let us in and I appreciate that. Have fun and ride the wave. Us fans can get pretty crazy, be patient with us and know that we adore you.
