PIRACY IN E-BOOK WORLD

Image

As a newbie in this BLOG/BOOK REVIEW UNIVERSE, I felt I had to address the issue of PIRACY.  Last week two blogs were caught "stealing" and giving away books to their readers.  The problem with the two that were accused was in the "giveaways" that the sites had going on.

As a blogger on FACEBOOK it is so easy to get caught up in the numbers game. By that I mean "LIKES". In societies standards the more people that LIKE or FOLLOW you the better your page is.  We can get caught up in the "HOW DO I MAKE MY PAGE BETTER", "HOW CAN I BUILD MY AUDIENCE" frame of mind. I am guilty of that. But, I need to sit back and not compare myself to sites that have been around for years. I am trying to focus on giving you the reader what you want or like.  It is not easy to have a page. It can be down right exhausting. But, I try not to give up and keep doing my thing even if it sounds like I'm talking to myself.

How will you know if a GIVEAWAY IS LEGIT AND NOT STOLEN, Well, a blogger should NEVER have your "KINDLE" e-mail address. Never give that out. The awarded item will be delivered to your e-mail and then you can download the "gift" to your KINDLE. Never accept a copy that say ARC on it or doesn't have a cover on it. If you or a friend get a copy as a "gift" please report that.

We are given ARC's to review for you guys not to forward them on as gifts. To hear that this was happening was actually a bit heartbreaking. Imagine you work your butt off to put your words on a page and you re so happy and proud only to have them stolen. How would you feel?

Many of the authors take a chance on sharing their talent with us. They work hard to come up with a story line, to put their imagination on pages so that we can enjoy them. If we are truly fans then we should be able to support the art, the talent and report any wrong doing we may see.

Please keep your beautiful eyes out for anything that looks wrong.
